Each Pilates class starts by scanning our full body, sensing how we are in the moment. Then we continue to focus on the core muscle groups, by combining stretching and strengthening. The class is not only to gain a stronger body, but also to increase awareness in the body. For 8 weeks, you will learn step-by-step how to move in a more vital way.

Pilates is a very safe and effective exercise programme conceived and designed to restore optimal alignment and movement patterns. It focuses on the correct functioning of the core muscles. These muscles give stability, mobility and flexibility to the whole body.

Mai Tasaka is originally from Japan. She is a certified teacher of Feldenkrais method®, Pilates Mat and Vinyasa Yoga (RYT200), based in Rotterdam.

She was always interested in body movements from a young age. She often asked herself why certain movements were possible for others, but not for her.

Because of her professional dance career, she thought she hit the top of her physical abilities. “But I wasn’t there yet, at all,” says Mai, “After I encountered the Feldenkrais method, my abilities have expanded and are still expanding.” Learn more about Mai.
