Feldenkrais is a learning method. Awareness Through Movement lessons are practical, to gain more possibilities and ease in movement. As it’s named, awareness is an important aspect of the lessons. To gain awareness, we move on the floor in the most gentle and mindful way. You will be sensing small subtle movements through your nervous system and learn new patterns of movement.
Everybody is welcome: sportive, non-sportive, from young to elderly. Please wear something comfortable and warm.
You are moving all day, even while sleeping. All the movements you make – big and small – are what you have learned while growing up, they are strongly patterned so-called habits. Often we tend to use those habits without knowing if they are the best for us. If these habitual patterns of using your body are inefficient, they can cause chronic problems.
In daily life, your attention is often on what you should or want to do, not on how you move. In this class, we look at the “how”. As you become more aware of your movements and body, you will find new possibilities physically and mentally. It is the most beautiful and sustainable way of learning.

ABOUT MAI TASAKA
Mai is originally from Japan. She has encountered the Feldenkrais Method during her professional dance career. It was a door opening to a new way of living: “I started to sense the small difference in my body and in life.” The method taught her the power of curiosity and exploration, how you look at things. “It has been my core even when I teach or being a mother at home.”
